Meet Dr. Grassi

Dr. Michael D. Grassi is the longest practicing endodontist in the region, and one of the pioneers that provided endodontic treatments in Rochester. He grew up in Rochester, NY and went to Penfield school district and received his Dental Degree from SUNY at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and completed both his residency in Endodontics and his Masters Thesis at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Grassi is a Board Certified Endodontist, a fellow of the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He is the Section Head in Endodontics for the Eastman Institute for Oral Health as well as an Assistant Professor at the University of Rochester School of Medical Dentistry. In addition, he was a Clinical Assistant Professor at the SUNY at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and is a consultant in the Dental Department at St. Mary’s Hospital and Park Ridge Hospital. He served as Past President of the following: The Seventh District Dental Society, Monroe County Dental Society, Rochester Dental Study Club and the Apollonian Dental Study Club. Dr. Grassi has spoken locally and nationally on all aspects of Endodontics. Dr. Grassi & his wife, Denise, have three grown sons. Dr. Grassi is a board member of Eastman Dental Center Foundation. He also is an active member in a number of community and civic organizations.

Dr. Grassi is the recipient of several awards including: The George D. Greenwood Award (the top dental honor awarded in our district), the Part-Time Faculty Award at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health and also at the same Institution, he also received an award for excellence in Clinical Education in 2019 and the Faculty Award from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine.
